„Und mit wem fährst du nach Spanien?“ – „Alleine.“
Diesen Sommer bin ich das erste mal alleine verreist. Und ja, mit Absicht. Ich hätte sicher auch mit Frank oder Freunden nach Spanien fliegen können, aber ich hab mich bewusst dafür entschieden alleine zu reisen. Muss man auch mal gemacht haben, dachte ich mir. Und jetzt da ich unverletzt, erfahren und weise zurück in Deutschland bin möchte ich meine Eindrücke mit euch teilen. 😉
Warum bin ich alleine verreist?
Einmal alleine in den Urlaub zu fahren war schon immer auf meiner ToDo-Liste und da ich mir nach meiner Fortbildung eine Belohnung gönnen wollte, passte der Plan dieses Jahr gut rein. Außerdem wollte ich auch mal einen längeren Zeitraum verreisen, in meinem Fall waren das drei Wochen. Für so einen Zeitraum eine Reisebegleitung zu finden ist auch eher schwierig. Also warum lange rumfragen und Termine abstimmen, wenn ich auch einfach los kann wenn mir danach ist. Und das wurde dann irgendwie auch das Mantra der Reise.
Was ist besonders am allein reisen?
Ich hab mir ehrlich gesagt nicht viel Gedanken um das alleine reisen gemacht und war auch gar nicht der Meinung, dass es etwas so außergewöhnlich ist. Jedem dem ich davon erzählt hab hatte aber gleich etliche Fragen und Zweifel parat. Es folgt die TOP 3.

#2 Bist du dann nicht einsam?
#3 Als Frau kannst du doch nicht alleine verreisen!
Häufig bin ich auch auf Bewunderung gestoßen, dass ich einfach los mach und alleine reise. Es gab viele Leute die es super fanden und auch schon immer mal allein verreisen wollten, sich aber irgendwie nicht trauen oder es einfach noch nicht gemacht haben. Viele die schon mal alleine verreist sind haben mir auch gesagt dass ich es unbedingt machen soll und das sie es nicht bereuen. Deshalb teile ich meine Erfahrungen hier, um euch zu ermutigen es auch mal zu probieren alleine zu verreisen.
Ist alleine reisen gefährlich?
Schwierige Fragen, vermutlich ist die Antwort JA. Es wäre aber auch die selbe Antwort auf die Frage: Ist alleine zum Rewe laufen gefährlich? Klar ist es wahrscheinlicher das Opfer von einem Überfall, Diebstahl oder sonst was zu werden wenn man alleine unterwegs ist. Aber das ist ja in der Heimat auch nichts anderes als im Urlaub.
Man sollte sich generell, ob allein oder in Gruppen, vorher über das Reiseland informieren und speziell auch wie es dort mit Kriminalität, Diebstahl und gefährlichen Stadtteilen aussieht. Das ist aber auch in der Gruppe nicht weniger gefährlich. Mir ist selbst auch schon in Gruppen der Geldbeutel oder das Handy geklaut worden. Es ist eben einfach wichtig (ja, auch ich hab dazu gelernt! 😀 ) sich auf Reisen so zu verhalten, dass man nicht direkt ein leichtes Opfer für die Halunken der großen weiten Welt wird. Da gibt’s für mich keinen Unterschied ob alleine auf Reisen oder in einer Gruppe.
Ist alleine reisen einsam?
Das war eigentlich der einzige Punkt über den ich mir Gedanken gemacht hab. Ich hatte schon ein Bisschen Angst davor vor einer tollen Kulisse zu stehen, mich zu Frank umdrehen zu wollen um etwas wie „ooooh scheiße ist das schön, schau – schau – schau!“ zu fiepsen und dann festzustellen das keiner da ist. Klingt dramatisch aber genau so hat meine Befürchtung ausgesehen. Das war für mich viel mehr Thema als die Gefahren des alleine reisens. Ich wusste einfach nicht wie ich wohl damit umgehen werden tolle Erfahrungen und Orte nicht direkt mit jemanden teilen zu können. Ob ich mich dann so richtig dran erfreuen kann wenn ich’s nicht gemeinsam mit jemanden erlebe?
Das war aber alles überhaupt kein Problem. Ich hab mich auch alleine wunderbar an tollen Stränden oder kitschigen Sonnenuntergängen erfreuen können und es vielleicht auch deswegen ein bisschen bewusster und entspannter genießen können. Und alles was ich so gut fand dass ich es teilen wollte hab ich ja geteilt – mit euch 😉 Ich hab täglich Storys von meiner Reise auf Instagram gepostet und regelmäßig meine News und Gedanken auf Facebook geteilt. Vielleicht hat mir auch deswegen nichts gefehlt, weil ich alles das ich teilen wollte ja festgehalten hab, für mich aber auch für den Blog.
Ist alleine reisen mutig oder doch irgendwie traurig?
Die zweite Sache war die Angst davor durch den Urlaub zu gehen mit dem Gefühl „man wie traurig ich latsch hier alleine durch die Welt, ganz schön armselig“. Ich war mir auch nicht so sicher ob ich tatsächlich Anschluss finde bei anderen Backpackern, weil ich bei Personen oder Gruppen die ich nicht kenne zwar recht offen bin aber nicht diejenige die direkt auf andere zu geht.
Ganz im Gegenteil meiner Befürchtungen fand ich es super entspannt alleine unterwegs zu sein, weil ich mich mit niemanden absprechen musste, sondern einfach machen konnte was ich wollte. Meine Tage waren am Ende eh so vollgepackt mit verschiedensten Aktivitäten, dass ich am Ende des Tages froh war mich alleine in ein Restaurant setzen zu können und mich nicht noch unterhalten zu müssen.
Einige Tage bin ich dann noch mit einer anderen Solo-Travelerin gereist, die ich vorher in einer Facebookgruppe für Spanien-Backpacking kennengelernt hab. Auch das war cool zur Abwechslung und hat riesig Spaß gemacht. Aber danach war ich auch wieder froh alleine weiter reisen zu können. Da ich mich schon so daran gewohnt hatte keine Rücksicht nehmen zu müssen was jemand anders möchte.
Ich hab auch in den Hostels keinerlei Ambitionen gehabt Anschluss bei anderen Reisenden zu suchen. Ich war nämlich jeden Abend so k.o. war, dass ich froh war in meinem Bett zu liegen,ein bisschen zu entspanen und die Eindrücke vom Tag zu verarbeiten. Hätte ich aber Bock gehabt mich zu unterhalten, hätte es dank Gemeinschaftsräumen und einem Haufen weiter aufgeschlossener Alleinreisenden sicher auch geklappt. In den Hostels gibt es auch häufig Gruppenangebote für Ausflüge oder Pub-Touren bei denen man schnell andere Reisende kennen lernen kann.
Außerdem hatte ich in meine 19 tägige Reise auch noch ein einwöchiges Surfcamp eingeplant, bei dem ich täglichen Kontakt mit ganz tollen Menschen hatte. Das hätte ein Defizit an sozialem Kontakt locker wieder ausgeglichen. Vielleicht ist so eine Station während man alleine reist auch eine gute Option für den Einstieg.
Ist als Frau alleine zu verreisen besonders gefährlich?
Auch ein schwieriges Thema. Ich persönlich habe nicht wirklich geglaubt dass es gefährlicher wäre als Frau alleine zu verreisen und hab auch keine negativen Erfahrungen gemacht. Jedoch habe ich auch Leute auf der Reise kennengelernt, die aus anderen Ländern (z.B. Indien) erzählt haben, in denen es wohl tatsächlich schwierig sein kann als Frau alleine zu reisen.
In Spanien hatte ich keinerlei Probleme und kann euch das Land auch nur weiter empfehlen! Ich denke auch hier gilt: informiert euch gut über euer Reiseland und speziell auch über kulturelle Unterschiede. Und ob männlich oder weiblich: nehmt die hässliche Bauchtasche mit, die euch eure Mama immer einpacken will – so wird euch wenigstens nicht der Geldbeutel geklaut! JA MAMA DU HATTEST WIE IMMER RECHT :*

Mein Fazit ist auf jeden Fall positiv: Ich würde sofort nochmal alleine los ziehen und sicherlich wird es auch nochmal vorkommen. Man lernt schnell welche Dinge einem im Urlaub wirklich gut tun und was man vielleicht nur macht um Rücksicht auf andere Personen zu nehmen. Es ist einfach eine gute Möglichkeit sich noch ein Stück besser kennen zu lernen und auch mit anderen Leuten in Kontakt zu kommen.
Allein ist man eben doch aufgeschlossener als in einer Gruppe. Doch auch gemeinsam verreisen macht mir Spaß. Und wie das beim verreisen immer so ist, wenn die Reisebegleitung einfach gut zu einem passt sehnt man sich auch nach langer Reisedauer nicht nach alone-time. Also: Augen auf bei der Travel-Partner-wahl und ansonsten ist man selbst immer der beste Reisepartner.
Die kleine Schattenseite
Ein paar Kleinigkeiten muss man dann eben doch in Kauf nehmen, wenn man allein verreist. Eine Solo-Reise ist einfach nochmal viel anstrengender, weil man dauerhaft alle Verantwortung und Entscheidungen auf seinen eigenen Schultern trägt. Es nimmt einem niemand Entscheidungen ab und man kann sich nicht einfach mal zurücklehnen und den anderen das Steuer überlassen. Außerdem gestalten sich einige simple Dinge organisatorisch schwierig. Wie die Aufbewahrung seiner Wertsachen wenn man eine Runde ins Meer möchte, oder sich gemeinsam mit dem riesigen Rucksack eine Toilettenkabine zu teilen. Alles irgendwie machbar aber dennoch nicht zu vernachlässigen 😉
