Auf unserer Reise auf die Färöer Inseln hatten wir das erste mal einen Umsteigeflug über Dänemark. Da wir uns selbst einige Fragen wegen unseres Gepäcks gestellt haben und bei der Buchung von Umsteigeflügen einiges zu beachten ist, haben wir die drei wichtigsten Punkte für euch zusammengefasst.
1. Umsteigeflüge immer auf ein Ticket buchen
Beim buchen unseres Fluges ‚München – Kopenhagen – Vágar‘ hatten wir 2 Möglichkeiten:
Erstens: beide Flüge seperat buchen, also einmal ‚München – Kopenhagen‘ und einmal ‚Kopenhagen – Vágar‘.
Zweitens: alle Flüge auf ein Ticket buchen und 100 Euro mehr bezahlen. Doch wo liegt neben dem Preis der Unterschied? Das Buchen des Fluges auf zwei separate Tickets hat einen großen Nachteil:
Wenn ihr euren Flug auf 2 Tickets bucht seid ihr nicht rechtlich abgesichert wenn ihr euren Anschlussflug verpasst. Das passiert ganz schnell, wenn ihr zum Beispiel beim ersten Flug Verspätung hattet, oder ihr eure Umsteigezeit zu knapp bemessen habt. Dann habt ihr keinen Anspruch darauf dass die Airline sich um euren Weitertransport kümmert. Soll heißen: kosten für einen Ersatzflug, eine Unterkunft bis zum nächstmöglichen Flug, etc. müsst ihr selbst tragen und nicht wie bei einem Ticket üblich die Airline. Deshalb haben wir uns entschieden 100 Euro mehr in die Hand zu nehmen und die Flüge auf ein Ticket gebucht. Um auf Nummer Sicher zu gehen können wir euch das nur ans Herz legen!
2. Euer Gepäck wird automatisch bis zum Ziel durchgecheckt
Wir haben bei unserem Umsteigeflug auf die Färöer Inseln eine Nacht in Kopenhagen verbracht, weil unser Anschlussflug erst am nächsten Morgen ging. Da wir alle Flüge auf ein Ticket gebucht haben wurde unser Gepäck automatisch bis nach Vágar durchgecheckt. Auch obwohl wir einen Stopp mit Übernachtung hatten. In dem Fall solltet ihr daran denken, alles was ihr für die erste Übernachtung braucht in euer Handgepäck zu packen.
Ihr könnt ansonsten auch beim einchecken am Startflughafen dazu sagen, dass ihr euer Aufgabegepäck nicht durchgecheckt haben möchtet. Dann bekommt ihr es zwar am Zwischenstopp wieder, müsst es aber auch rumschleppen und am nächsten Tag wieder aufgeben.
3. Habt Vertrauen in die Airline, aber nicht zu viel 😉
Auch wenn wir Anfangs etwas Bammel hatten, ob unser Gepäck es wirklich bis auf die Färöer Inseln schafft, hat alles einwandfrei funktioniert. Am Flughafen Vágar lagen wir uns mit unseren Koffern wieder in den Armen und waren so voll ausgestattet für unsere Fotoreise. Die Airlines scheinen also etwas von ihrer Logistik zu verstehen, also macht euch keine Sorgen, in der Regel klappt das ohne Probleme.
Wer aber schon mal gesehen hat wie gefühlvoll die eigenen Koffer verladen werden der überlegt zweimal was man alles ins Aufgabegepäck packt. Versucht also alles was euch lieb und vor allem teuer ist (Fotoequipment, Drohnen, Brillen, and so on) im Handgepäck unterzubringen um Schäden zu vermeiden.
